Pentecost River Crossing, the Kimberleys
Apply the techniques of Monet to painting the Australian Outback.
An original Australian Landscape by Peter Inglis.
In this class I will will guide you through the process of painting one of Australia's most famous landmarks, the Pentecost River Crossing in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
In the wet season this is a raging river and you can see that some trees manage to survive the torrent, while taking on a decided lean to the left!
I devised this lesson plan during a 2014 painting trip to Zebra Rock Gallery in Kununurra.
Some of the techniques we will learn in this painting are stippling and creating perspective.
Your painting won't look exactly like this one. That doesn't matter! My method of teaching enables you to express your own taste and feelings about what is beautiful. This is not a prescriptive method, but rather a series of processes which enable your self expression.
Go for it! Have fun!
