Monet: Woman with a Parasol, 1875

Book this session
Paint one of Monet's most loved works. This painting depicts the play of natural light on his wife's dress and green silk lined parasol. We can see the movement of the air in the grass, the sky and in the ribbons across her face.

Detail

You will be surprised at some of the brushstrokes in this impressionist masterpiece. We usually see it in postcard size, or on a postcard, at which size the painting looks like a photograph.
Upon looking closely at the face we can see the dance of her ribbons across the face. The movement and rhythm of the wind is echoed in the clouds, the grass and her dress.

Details from my interpretation

My version, at 600 x 900 mm, gives us the opportunity in class to see the brush strokes in detail.
