Our first Monet in Camden
We held our first Monet Masterclass in Camden over the Anzac Day long weekend in April.
The facilities are beautifully appointed, spacious, quiet and comfortable, exactly what we want for a relaxed day of painting.
Our Camden art workshops are held in this beautiful facility right in the centre of town.
Laying in the initial textures.
Painting Monet's Japanese Bridge.
The lily pads in Monet's garden. Once you know how to create these effects you are ready to have a go at painting any lily pond that takes your fancy!
The student's pallete shows the range of subtle pastel colours we learn to paint in this lesson.
Almost finished.
Three final paintings by the students. Notice that they are all different, yet all recognisably the same scene, and in the same style. The way I teach allows you to express your own indvidual tastes and preferences within a recognisable style.
This is truly living, breathing art! It demonstrates the great legacy left us by the masters of western art. They have left us a body of work within which we can learn and grow at the same time.
We had a very enjoyable day, enjoyed a gourmet lunch, and are looking forward to next month's masterclass - more Monet!
