Monet: Summer (Meadow at Bezons), 1874
This subtle and delightful scene by Claude Monet captures the feeling of a breezy summer afternoon. It gives us the opportunity to practice the delicate textures of grasses and trees moving in the wind
Student interpretations
These interpretations were painted by a beginner students in their very first lesson at Inglis Academy.
This painting requires a very delicate touch, which is something I fast-track in these sessions by drawing on my experience in martial arts, movement, Eurhythmics and musical performance and pedagogy.
Of course the students bring their enthusiasm and love for art.
Crucially, they also exercise their ability to listen and take on new information.
They also are willing to take risks. One of the biggest fears people have is to appear foolish in public. In our small classes we generate a positive environment and... look at the results!
A fantastic effort by these students!
