As well as being beautiful paintings in their own right, this series was an exploration of light effects at different times of the day on the same subject.

One of my interpretations 91 x 120cm.
35 x 45 cm, the standard sized canvas we use in class, hung in the Inglis Classical frame.

Another Dream Team who are having great fun in our Gallery Quality Painting
stream (L to R): Linda - Naomi - Cherry - Louise - Vendula.
Look at the intensity of colour vibration creating using complementary colours - particularly in the mountains.
Vendula's Monet: Haystacks.
Cherry's painting brought in the feeling of a wintry morning with snow and frost laying thick on the mountains.
Linda used the technique of dragging a fan brush across impasto to tear the paint, creating complex textures in the grass.
Naomi's Monet created the impression of shimmering heat.
Naomi and her Monet.
Louise's Monet had an intense Turner/Monet-like luminosity in the sky which is almost impossible to capture with a camera. The Art Gallery of N.S.W. has a Monet seascape with a similar palette and execution, and it lights up the entire gallery!

Annie's version.
An excellent start! Full of energy and colour.
